W. Nirschl horns receive excellent reviews from performers and educators

W. Nirschl’s complete line of French horns, released late last year, continue to receive high praise from performers and professionals alike for their top-notch construction and excellent prices. According to Richard Barth, director of

Gemstone’s brass division, the D800 Kruspe-style double horn offers the

same features as all comparable large bell nickel silver horns at approximately half the price. “It’s a perfect bid substitution instrument,” said Barth. “The D800 has all the specs you would see on a significantly more expensive horn like

the 8D or the 179, but the price makes it much more accessible for schools and

players whose budgets can’t accommodate a five or six thousand dollar horn.”

The D500 ¾ double horn has also received high marks for its innovative ¾ wrap

which allows smaller players to bypass a single horn and begin immediately on a

Geyer-style double horn. In addition to the compact design, the bell gives

players greater control over tuning and sound. In addition to the D800 and D500 horns, W. Nirschl  offers the D700 and D780 Geyer-style horns and the D880 Kruspe-style horn.

All W. Nirschl horns offer the same features as many more expensive horns at a

competitive, school-friendly price.
